The organisers of the National Vintage Tractor Road Run have decided that all proceeds will be going to the following charities:

SARA - Severn Area Rescue Association
SARA is an inshore rescue boat and land search organisation covering the Severn Estuary and the surrounding area.

SARA was founded in 1973, with its headquarters at Tutshill, which is near the current Beachley station.  In 1976 SARA became a registered charity and purchased its first boat in 1977.

In 1985 SARA became an official Mountain Rescue Post in the role of Cliff Rescue for the Wye Valley.  A year later in 1986 a second station was opened at Sharpness.  This was primarily in response to a tragic loss of life in the Sharpness area.

Following the 2007 floods, SARA decided to form a new station in Tewkesbury.  The Tewkesbury station in SARA's fourth station and will provide both water and land based Search and Rescue Services.  The station opened in October 2009 following the donation of a unit for 2 years from local company Basepoint.

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a visit to the hospital at Selly Oak.  It is a charity which provides direct, practical support, primarily to those wounded in current conflicts.  It was launched on 1 October 2007.

Help for Heroes was formed  because they believed that if young men and women are prepared to volunteer to serve our country on our behalf, and get hurst while doing so, they deserve our support.  We want that support to be the best and to be there for life.

To date Help for Heroes has raised in excess of £121 million but still needs £65 million.  As our road run starts at Beachley Army Camp we though it fit to support this very good cause.  If you need any further information please visit their site at
